启功先生，姓爱新觉罗，字元白，中国当代著名教育家、国学大师、书画家、文物鉴定家、诗人，中国人民政治协商会议全国委员会常务委员、中央文史研究馆馆长、“九三”学社顾问、国家鉴定委员会主任委员、中国书法家协会名誉主席，中国佛教协会、国家博物馆顾问，西泠印社社长、北京师范大学教授。启功受业于著名史学家陈垣先生，专门从事中国文学史、中国美术史、中国历代散文、历代诗选和唐宋词等课程的教学与研究。
Mr. Qigong, surnamed Aixinjueluo, character white, is a famous contemporary Chinese educator, master of Sinology, calligrapher and painter, cultural relics appraiser, poet, standing member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, curator of the Central Museum of Literature and History, consultant of the Jiu San Society, chairman of the National Appraisal Committee, honorary chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, consultant of the Chinese Buddhist Association and National Museum, president of Xiling Seal Society, professor of Beijing Normal University. Qigong studied in the famous historian Mr. Chen Yuan, specializing in the teaching and research of courses such as the history of Chinese literature, Chinese art history, Chinese prose, poetry anthology of all dynasties, Tang and Song Ci.

他执教六十余年，在中国古典文学教学与研究等方面取得了突出成就，为国家培育了一大批古典文学的教学与研究人才。他为促进祖国教育事业，报答老师教育之恩，延绵陈垣先生的教泽，用出售字画所得200余万元，设立了励耘奖学金。启功也是中国当代著名的书画家，他的旧体诗词亦享誉国内外诗坛，故有诗、书、画“三绝”之称。
He has been teaching for more than 60 years and has made outstanding achievements in the teaching and research of Chinese classical literature, and has cultivated a large number of teaching and research talents in classical literature for the country. In order to promote the cause of education in the motherland and repay the kindness of teachers' education, Mr. Chen Yuan's education has set up a hard-inspiring scholarship with more than 2 million yuan from the sale of calligraphy and painting. Qigong is also a famous calligrapher and painter in contemporary China. His old-fashioned poetry is also well-known in poetry at home and abroad, so he is known as the "three unique" of poetry, calligraphy and painting.
自80年代初，他的书画专集、诗词专集陆续出版，受到了广大读者的欢迎与好评。近几年，又先后赴日本、新加坡、韩国和香港、澳门举办书画展，取得了很大成功，为国际文化交流做出了贡献。启功还是我国的文物鉴赏家和鉴定家，对于古代书画和碑贴的鉴定尤为专精，独具慧眼，识见非凡。他曾受文化部和国家文物局的委托，主持鉴定小组，与其他几位专家一起，对收藏在全国各大城市博物馆的国家级古书画珍品，进行了全面鉴定和甄别，为国家整理、保存了大量古文物精品。2005年6月30日2时25分，启功因病逝世，享年93岁。

Together with several other experts, he carried out a comprehensive appraisal and screening of national ancient calligraphy and painting treasures in museums in major cities across the country, and sorted out and preserved a large number of ancient cultural relics for the country.At 02:25 on June 30, 2005, Qigong died of illness at the age of 93.
