Recommended Boutique ---Meiji eleven year one dollar coin

Meiji was the name used during the reign of Emperor Meiji of Japan. After the restoration of the imperial order and the Wuchen War, Japan supported the vassals of the imperial court and established the new Meiji Government. Meiji government actively introduced various European and American systems and abolished prefectures, established the national system, established the Imperial parliament and formulated the Constitution of the Great Japanese Empire. With the cultivation of industries and the strengthening of the military as a national policy, it rapidly developed into a modern country. The Meiji Restoration was the turning point of Japan from feudalism to capitalism, and also the turning point of Japan from a backward feudal country to a world economic and military power. In order to meet the needs of vigorously developing capitalism and developing foreign economy and commodity trade, the Japanese Restoration government began to mint trade silver dollars with a face value of "one yuan" in the third year of Meiji (1870), which lasted 45 years until the Third year of Taisho (1914). Metal currency is an important and inseparable part of the national legal currency, and it is also a sign and symbol of a country's developed and civilized. It not only acts as an indispensable measure of value and means of exchange for the national economy and people's livelihood in economic activities, but also has certain artistic and collection value.

Recently, our company collected a Meiji eleven year one round coin, weighing 18.7g, with a diameter of 3.9cm. The front center has the Chinese character "one circle", the upper part is cast on behalf of the Japanese royal family's 16-petal eightfold chrysanthemum emblem, accompanied by the left and right sides of the cherry and chrysanthemum branches, the stamens and buds are clearly identifiable, the branches and feet cross into a bow shape, with strong Dongwin characteristics; On the back is the pattern of flying dragon playing beads surrounded by beads, which confirms the "fire" of Japanese culture and implies the generation of "day". Double dragon teeth, angry eyes, scales can be seen, double tail phase disc, lifelike. Dragon ring beads, beads outside the "Great Japan Meiji eleven years" words. Because of the dragon ball pattern on the back, it is also called "Japanese dragon Ocean". The coin is well preserved, the casting is clear, has obvious historical characteristics, the market price is rising, and the appreciation momentum is strong.

This coin has exquisite shape, deep decoration, bright color, mellow paste, old rust color, clear money shape, smooth surface, and great artistic appreciation value. Japan in the Meiji era has been opened by the Western ships and guns, the society has undergone profound changes, from feudalism to capitalism, this coin printed in English, is the psychological reflection of the Japanese people facing the West. Collection design is exquisite, novel and unique, regular shape, excellent casting, clear text, smooth lines, simple, elegant, profound meaning, after endless years, the lines are still clearly visible, the traces above prove its historical accumulation, with obvious historical transitional characteristics, great collection value.

In the first year of Meiji, Japan purchased a complete set of coinage machines from Hong Kong (the British machine, which had minted Hong Kong's first set of currency in Hong Kong from 1866 to 1868) and established a national mint in Osaka. In the third year of the Meiji period (1870), the mint was completed and silver rounds were immediately cast. The "circle" as the standard currency of Japan, that is, the implementation of the silver standard system, Japan initially cast silver yuan, which means to expel the local ocean and eagle Ocean that were rampant in Japan at that time, and unify the currency. The Japanese Ryoyo lasted 45 years, ending in the third year of Taisho (1914). Later for the development of economic casting for a long time, so that its position in commercial trade is irreplaceable, the impact is significant. According to statistics, a total of 34 years of Japanese Longyang were cast, in order: Meiji three years, seven years, eight years, nine years, ten years, eleven years to thirty years, thirty-four years to thirty-nine years, forty-one years, forty-five years and Taisho three years, a total of about 200 million silver dollars were cast for trade. Longyang silver coins in the eighth year of Meiji in Japan were extremely rare, and the minted amount of Longyang coins gradually increased from the eleventh year to the thirtieth year of Meiji, entering the golden age of Longyang in Japan.

Compared with the Japanese trade silver dollar, the Japanese round dragon silver dollar is a rare variety of foreign silver dollars flowing into our country in modern times. Japan's "dragon Ocean" was called "silver Ocean" in the early years of China, which is actually a short term for foreign commercial silver coins in Chinese people. As early as the middle of the Ming Dynasty, Spain had already manufactured "foreign" silver coins (commonly known as "double columns") in Mexico, and during the Qianlong and Jiaqing years of the Qing Dynasty, China's foreign trade was increasingly prosperous, and the types of silver coins flowing into China from foreign countries were also increasing. The Japanese "dragon" has five specifications, namely five money (1.25 g), ten money (2.7 g), twenty money (5.39 g), fifty money (10.13 g and 13.48 g) and one yuan (26.96 g). Japanese "Long Yang" design chic, casting is more exquisite.

One of the Japanese silver dollars imported into China in old times. It was minted by the Japanese government in 1871. After the Meiji Restoration (1868 AD), Japan adopted the silver standard and minted silver dollars, and although it changed to the gold standard, silver dollars continued to be minted. Japanese silver dollars are mostly used in treaty ports, and with the development of Sino-Japanese trade flows into China, including Xiamen, Fuzhou, Jiujiang, Nanchang, Shantou and Shenyang, Dalian and other places in the north. This kind of round longyang was cast at that time the circulation is very small, after the baptism of years, the world is rare, the currency is rare, and has excellent collection value. It has excellent casting and obvious circulation traces. As the saying goes, "things are rare and valuable", the earlier the silver dollar from modern society, the more expensive its corresponding value will be.
