绿玉髓，又名绿玛瑙，是一种宝石。英文名为chrysoprase，来自希腊语"chrysos"和"prason"，意思是黄金和韭菜。含有镍的纤维状石英，通常呈苹果绿色，能看见不同程度的深浅变化，呈半透明状。绿玛瑙是一种准晶体结构的矿石，构成的水晶相当好，在普通放大倍率下无法看到杂质，极其细腻。绿玛瑙与其他各种透明而且雕琢成六个面的水晶，如白水晶、紫水晶、黄水晶等有别，绿玛瑙以色而贵，不以加工技术而贵。绿玛瑙相当稀少，色彩诱人，是最具价值的石英矿石之一，深受国际大牌卡地亚、法贝热、Hemmerle等大牌热捧，在西方文化的名贵宝石中名列第十，是十二种组成耶路撒冷城墙基座的宝石之一！
