昌明（1917-2007），俗姓曹，名志秀，祖籍湖北枝江，世寿90岁，戒腊73夏。曾任中国佛教协会咨议委员会副主席，湖北省佛教协会会长，湖北省人大常委，武汉归元寺住持、黄梅五祖寺方丈，是中国书法家协会会员。

Changming (1917-2007), commonly known as Cao and named Zhixiu, has ancestral roots in Zhijiang, Hubei. He lived for 90 years and was ordained in the 73rd year of the lunar calendar. Formerly served as Vice Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the China Buddhist Association, President of the Hubei Buddhist Association, Standing Committee Member of the Hubei Provincial People's Congress, Abbot of Guiyuan Temple in Wuhan, and Abbot of Huangmei Wuzu Temple. He is a member of the China Calligraphers Association.
