生肖邮票，不同于与生肖属相相似图像的动物、绘画、文物、工艺等题材的邮票。生肖邮票的特点是邮票名称、票面文字都有明确的生肖内容，如“T.46庚申年”，并以中国古老的干支纪年的十二种生肖动物为图案，且发行年与属相年一致。一般生肖邮票每年只发行一套，并成系列发行。世界上首枚生肖邮票是日本于1950年发行的“虎票”。自那年至今每年只少有50多个国家发行生肖邮票。庚申年1980年2月15日，我国第一次发行生肖邮票，即“猴票”。自此以后，截止2015年已发行三轮生肖邮票。生肖文化源于中国，已有两千年的历史。它是中华民族文化及民俗的重要组成部分。
阎炳武，著名邮票雕刻师、画家。生于1954年，北京人，系中国美术家协会会员，中国展示设计协会会员。从事邮票设计、雕刻工作近40年，我国著名邮票设计家，中国邮政集团公司邮票印制局高级工艺美术师，现任中国邮政集团公司邮票印制局邮票图稿编辑部主任。1984年至1986年在鲁迅美术学院版画系学习。从1980年至今，阎炳武设计邮票近五十套、200余枚，近几十种邮资封、片、卡、折。曾为中国-法国建交五十周年设计过1/4欧元银币、世界电影百年银币，为联合国邮政设计过《2017丁酉鸡年邮票》，为圣马利诺、马绍尔、刚果、密克罗尼西亚、几内亚比绍等世界多国设计过纪念票、生肖票等。参与雕刻编审邮票近千种，曾获1980年和1982年最佳邮票雕刻奖，1996、1997、1998、2002、2003年优秀邮票奖、专家奖、最佳邮票奖。所雕刻的《诺尔曼白求恩诞生一百周年》(中国和加拿大联合发行)纪念邮旁被加拿大政府采用。《中国皮影》《何香凝国画作品》荣获第九届全美术作品展览优务奖。

Yan Bingwu, a famous stamp engraver and painter. Born in 1954 in Beijing, he is a member of China Artists Association and China Exhibition Design Association. Engaged in stamp design, engraving work for nearly 40 years, China's famous stamp designer, China Post Group stamp printing Bureau senior art, the current China Post Group stamp printing Bureau stamp manuscript editorial director. From 1984 to 1986, he studied in the printmaking Department of Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1980, Yan Bingwu has designed nearly 50 sets of stamps, more than 200 pieces, and nearly dozens of postage covers, sheets, cards and folds. He has designed the 1/4 euro silver coin and the World Film centennial silver coin for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, the "2017 Year of the Rooster Stamp" for the United Nations Post, and commemorative tickets and zodiac tickets for SAN Marino, Marshall, Congo, Micronesia, Guinea-Bissau and other countries in the world. Participated in the engraving and editing of nearly a thousand kinds of stamps, has won the best stamp engraving award in 1980 and 1982, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2002, 2003 excellent stamp Award, expert Award, best stamp award. The engraving of the Centenary of the Birth of Norman Bethune (jointly issued by China and Canada) was adopted by the Canadian government next to the commemorative mail. "Chinese Shadow Play" and "He Xiangning's Chinese Painting" won the outstanding award of the 9th Whole Fine Art Exhibition.

近期我公司征集了一套由著名邮票雕刻师阎炳武创作的《80版金猴一片红》庚申年生肖猴票，本次藏品以1980年《庚申年》特种邮票为蓝本，采用彩印及荧光油墨等工艺印制而成，单枚猴票左上角文字“中国人民邮政庚申年”，左下角文字“T46.（1-1）”，右下角标注邮票面值“8分”与国家邮政发行年份“1980”，画面中央金猴翘首端坐，透着机灵顽皮的猴气，猴票用大红作为底色，寓意人寿年丰，充满欢乐喜庆的气氛，首开我国生肖邮票之先河。猴票当年发行时，广大集邮爱好者还没意识到它的存在价值，又因发行量不大，存世量很少，因此早已成为中华人民共和国邮票中的“珍邮”。
