Kong Fanzhou, born in 1961 in Henan, is a renowned contemporary calligrapher and painter. He has been a disciple of Qi Baishi for three generations and is the inheritor of the Qi school's ink painting techniques. He is currently a specially appointed consultant at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, an honorary consultant at the Qi Baishi Art Research Institute, deputy director of the Baishi Art Memorial Museum, deputy director of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Painting Art, and awarded the honorary title of China's Top 100 Calligraphers and Painters in 2005. He is also a contracted artist for the Beijing Education TV Station's "Ink Painting Program" and "Famous Lecture Hall".
1985年，孔繁洲经大伯引荐拜师齐白石之子齐良迟门下，与恩师齐良迟学习齐派水墨技法10余年，与齐白石嫡孙女齐丽霞是同窗好友，一同跟随恩师齐良迟学习国画。九十年代后期来到北京，在中央美术学院结识亦师亦友的国画大师，齐白石的亲传弟子娄师白先生，经娄师白指点开始尝试绘画金墨虾，多年的书写绘画，对诸多大师画法皆有研究，近几年，孔繁洲书画作品数十次获全国大奖，并被国家博物馆，韩国，日本等十几个国家收藏。精选作品献礼全国两会，并有五十多家新闻媒体报导，产生了极大的影响，成为了享誉国际的书画名人。
孔繁洲先生多年来，积极参与公益事业，多幅书画作品被拍所得百万余元，全部捐赠给云南贵州灾区和贫困山区学校，并且积极推动捐款贫苦地区养老机构建设，多次被授予“德艺双馨”、“中国百杰”书画家荣誉称号。
In 1985, Kong Fanzhou was recommended by his uncle to become a disciple of Qi Liangchi, the son of Qi Baishi. He studied the Qi school ink painting techniques with his mentor Qi Liangchi for more than 10 years, and was a classmate friend with Qi Baishi's granddaughter Qi Lixia. Together, he studied traditional Chinese painting with his mentor Qi Liangchi. In the late 1990s, he came to Beijing and met Mr. Lou Shibai, a Chinese painting master who was also a teacher and friend of Qi Baishi at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. With the guidance of Lou Shibai, he began to try painting gold ink shrimp. After years of writing and painting, he studied many master painting techniques. In recent years, Kong Fanzhou's calligraphy and painting works have won national awards dozens of times and have been collected by national museums, South Korea, Japan, and more than ten countries. Selected works were presented to the National People's Congress and National People's Congress, and were reported by more than 50 news media, which had a great impact and became an internationally renowned calligraphy and painting celebrity.

我司近期征集了一幅“孔繁洲款河虾图”，构图方面，此画采用了竖式构图，整个画面中仅画五只河虾和几行长提款，显得清爽舒适，画中虽没画水，但却让人感觉水的存在，这可能就是中国画中记白当黑的道理吧。画面下边齐头并进地画了三只虾，体现中国画提法的聚，画面上边安排两只，正是中国画构图提出的散；在用笔方面，该作品的用笔概括来讲就是侧锋和拖笔两种，侧锋就是将笔杆倾斜，笔锋在笔画的一侧运行，一般是画面积比较大的部分，根据画面的需要，运笔的快慢可以画出干笔与湿笔同时也要注意控制笔中的水分，水多就湿润些，水少则枯些。拖笔的用法就是把笔杆的朝向笔画的方向运行，特别要注意握笔的力度和手腕的平稳性，因为只有这样才能控制线条的粗细；在用墨方面，中国画最讲究用墨，有墨分五色之说，也就是说墨要有层次变化，具体来说有浓墨、次浓墨、淡墨、次淡墨和淡墨之分。孔繁洲这幅河虾图中我们可以看出，在这些河虾之中，绝大部分都是用淡墨完成的，在淡墨与淡墨的笔触之间都有明显的水迹，显得格外晶莹剔透，把河虾那种水淋淋的感觉表现得活灵活现。在较大面积的淡墨中，孔老加入极少量浓墨，可以说是惜墨如金，用点或细线的方式表现出，如虾的内脏和虾前腿和眼睛等，这些虽然在画面中占的面积不大，但却非常醒目、响亮、自然、生动。

There is a saying that ink is divided into five colors, which means that ink needs to have hierarchical changes. Specifically, there are thick ink, secondary thick ink, light ink, secondary light ink, and light ink. In Kong Fanzhou's picture of river shrimp, we can see that the vast majority of them are completed in light ink. There are obvious water marks between the strokes of light ink and light ink, which appear particularly crystal clear, vividly portraying the feeling of river shrimp being soaked in water. In a larger area of light ink, Kong Lao added a very small amount of thick ink, which can be said to be as precious as gold.
