The military government's production of Sichuan copper coins was a product of the Xinhai Revolution period. In December 1911, a Chengdu mutiny occurred, and the Sichuan Military Government, led by Yin Changheng and Luo Lun, replaced the 12 day old Han Sichuan Military Government. At the beginning of the establishment of the new Sichuan Military Government, it faced a financial dilemma of increasing demand and spending. The military government quickly took over the Chengdu Mint in Sichuan and decided to mint Sichuan copper coins as an emergency measure.
民国元年4月，四川成都造币厂奉军政府之令，更换前清龙纹铜元旧模，雕版民国铜元新款。正式开铸军政府造四川铜币”，开模铸造“军政府造四川铜币”(也称“汉”字铜元)。开铸之初仅发行十文、二十文两种钱币。同年5月，又添铸当五十文一种，当年计铸十文铜元6055万余枚，二十文铜元1247万余枚，五十文铜元935万余枚。民国2年，除继续铸造十文、二十文、五十文铜元之外，又增铸重五钱八分的一百文铜元。 因此，一百文铜币，极为珍贵，市场价值更是不菲。
In April of the first year of the Republic of China, the Chengdu Mint in Sichuan was ordered by the military government to replace the old mold of the dragon patterned copper coins from the previous Qing Dynasty and engrave the new model of the Republic of China copper coins. Officially minting the "Sichuan Copper Coin Made by the Military Government" and casting the "Sichuan Copper Coin Made by the Military Government" (also known as the "Han" copper coin). At the beginning of the coinage, only two types of coins were issued: ten wen and twenty wen. In May of the same year, another type of bronze coin was added, with a total of over 60.55 million pieces of ten wen copper coins, over 12.47 million pieces of twenty wen copper coins, and over 9.35 million pieces of fifty wen copper coins cast that year. In the second year of the Republic of China, in addition to continuing to cast ten wen, twenty wen, and fifty wen copper coins, an additional one hundred wen copper coins weighing five to eight cents were also cast. Therefore, the 100 wen copper coin is extremely precious, and its market value is even more expensive.
我公司近期征集了“铜币一组”，共四枚，币面正中"四川铜币"4字，中间为海棠花图案，上眉有"军政府造"字样，下部为“一百文”币值，背面中间有个圈，圈内有篆阳文"汉"字，“汉”字底有数十条横直纹，因而金币收藏者也称之为“汉”字铜元。“汉”字圆圈外还环绕有18个小圆圈，代表当时的十八个省份。把18个小圆圈围绕着“汉”字联关成一体，寓意十八省人民团结起来共同为“驱逐鞑虏，恢复中华”而战斗。
Our company has recently collected a set of "copper coins", consisting of four pieces. 此钱币存世量稀少，铜板铸造时间不长，前后仅流通了50多年，极具收藏价值和经济价值。2012年4月28日，民国二年军政府造四川铜币，成交价是160万元人民币;2012年12月28日，中华民国年四川铜币军政，成交价120万元人民币;2013年6月7日，民国元年军政府造汉字四川，成交价:101万元人民币;2015年8月5日四川铜币，成交价是196万元人民币;2015年8月20日，四川铜币，成交价是320万元人民币。
